“As a GA for the fourth-year undergraduate photo thesis classes, I was able to work alongside Robyn Cumming, Annie MacDonell, Vid Ingelevics, and Sara Angelucci. Besides bringing my own knowledge and experiences to these classes, it provided a valuable opportunity to learn from each professor’s teaching methods.”
–Eliot Wright, MFA, Documentary Media, Ryerson Gold Medal and Leadership Award, 2017

“A unique and innovative program, the Doc Media MFA was a crucial incubator for my growth as a documentary filmmaker and interactive storyteller… Strongly recommended for driven, self-directed learners who want to make the most of their thesis work.”
–Marc Serpa Francoeur, Co-Owner, Lost Time Media, MFA Documentary Media, 2013

“The Doc Media program was … two years of encouraged, unbounded creativity, matched by equally high expectations of rigorous academic thought and critical political engagement … My strong research relationships, my continued art and curatorial practice, and the generous institutional support I’ve received (SSHRC CGSD, Trudeau Scholar, Liu Scholar) are all testaments to the MFA’s impact on my development as an artist, academic, and activist.”
