Crossection is the annual juried art show presented by the Central Ontario Art Association (COAA), showcasing a selection of its member’s recent and finest pieces of artwork. Artist members work in a variety of subject matter and media, including oil, acrylic and watercolour.
This year’s show is juried by Sam Paonessa (b. 1956), an artist with more than 35 years of experience. Sam is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and has worked as a fine artist for Hallmark Inc. He also has worked under respected artists including Will Davies, Brenda Bury and Daniel Greene. Sam enjoys painting en plein air.
About Central Ontario Art Association
For over 50 years, Central Ontario Art Association (COAA) has been a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for visual artists. COAA hosts two juried art shows and one non-juried art show each year for its members, embracing all media and all levels of artistic development. The association has over 300 artists and they support and mentor each other through workshops, informal paint-outs, sketching trips, and annual exhibitions. About the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery
The Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery hosts 10 shows annually with exhibitions showcasing emerging and established visual artists/art groups, by providing diverse, accessible, inclusive and professional gallery space. The gallery is owned and operated by the City of Toronto, Arts Services and is programmed by a dedicated gallery committee.
Gallery Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm and Saturday, 10am to 6pm
Admission is free and the venue is accessible.
