Activist Poster Workshop with Colour Code

Join Colour Code for an evening workshop making your own protest / activist risograph poster, in conjunction with the reading room exhibition Flashpoint! Protest Photography in Print.
Take home ten (10) 11 x 17″ risograph prints of your own creation (1-2 colour), plus a print exchange with all workshop participants.
In this workshop participants will:
- create an artwork using collage materials
- scan artwork for printing
- learn basic risograph skills
This workshop is suitable for any level of experience, no digital tools are required.
A maximum of 8 designs can be printed during this workshop; we welcome duos or groups who want to make a poster together!
Established in 2012. Colour Code is an independent print studio and publishing platform based in Toronto, Canada. They specialize in high quality, artist friendly printing for local, US and international customers, and also publish and distribute small-run artist books, comics, posters and other printed matter.

Flashpoint! Reading Room Tour with Kerry Manders

The Flashpoint! Protest Photography in Print Reading Room showcases a selection of more than 90 photobooks, zines, posters, pamphlets, independent journals, and alternative newspapers addressing protest and resistance, and highlighting photography’s critical role within it.
Join Toronto-based writer, editor, and photographer Kerry Manders as she discusses her essay on AIDS in visual culture written for the Flashpoint! anthology, and highlights some of the printed matter on view in the exhibition’s chapter on Gender and LGBTQ+ rights.
Kerry Manders is a contributor to The New York Times, T Magazine, The Advocate, and Aperture, among other publications, where she explores various aspects of queerness, mourning, and photography. Her first collaborative chapbook (with Brandy Ryan), After Pulse, was published by knife І fork І book (2019) and her second (with Tom Cull), Keep Your Distance, by Collusion Books (2021). She is currently writing a mourning memoir.
