Cedar Ridge Call for Artists: 2020 Exhibitions


Contemporary Art Exhibition

January – March, 2020
Call for submissions for contemporary artists and crafts people working in a variety of media. Artists are encouraged to apply as an individual or as a group. Exhibitions are scheduled for two weeks at a time; artists receive a small honorarium, invitations and marketing assistance. There is no application fee to apply to this stream. Deadline for submissions: Monday, September 9, 2019.

Ridge Gallery: Short-term Gallery Rentals

May – December, 2020
Apply for a short term gallery space rental during the months of September to December to exhibit your work at beautiful Cedar Ridge Creative Centre. Available on a biweekly basis, there are three gallery spaces; artists may submit for one room or all three. Exhibitions can be organized by individuals of all abilities, including but not limited to; students, artists, collectives, makers, designers, groups and classes. Rates are $520.00 (HST included) for two weeks for all three rooms. Gallery commission is 20% on sales which goes towards gallery operations. There is no fee to apply to this stream. Deadline for submissions: Monday, September 23, 2019.

Results will be emailed out by Friday, November 1, 2019.

The Cedar Ridge Gallery is animated ten months annually with short term rotating exhibitions showcasing a spectrum of emerging to established artists, community arts groups and students. The Cedar Ridge Gallery, owned and operated by The City of Toronto, Arts Services, is programmed in partnership with the Cedar Ridge Studio Gallery, a registered charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of visual art in the community.

The gallery space features three large rooms on the main floor of a historic mansion overlooking a ravine. There are hardwood floors and original architectural features remaining in the gallery spaces, such as a chandelier and built-ins. The gallery space is filled with large windows that provide natural light throughout the day.
