Through Artist Eyes
This is an annual exhibition by the OSA promoting the best art that Canada has to offer. The OSA has a long history of excellence.
OSA welcomes all manner of original 2D and 3D visual art (drawing, printing, painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture) created in the last three years.

Our Jurors
Katerina Atanassova, Senior Curator of Canadian Art at the National Gallery of Canada is an Art Historian, Author, and Art Educator bringing over two decades of experience in designing and curating dynamic exhibitions.
Johanna Mizgala, Chief Curator of the House of Commons Collection is a recognized leader in Canadian arts and cultural heritage institutions, with significant experience in arts education and visual literacy, as a curator and as a freelance art critic.
Ernestine Tahedl, an artist with solo exhibitions in Austria, France, Japan, the USA and Canada. She is a member of the RCA and OSA, and was the recipient of the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medal and The Golden Decoration of Honour.
Jurors will be looking for:
- Originality
- Fulfillment of intent
- Artistry in composition and design
- Excellence and skill in the chosen medium

Entry Guidelines
If you are a Canadian artist, 18 or over and living in Canada, we invite you to apply following the entry guidelines:
1. Submit maximum two entries. Submissions must be original work of submitting artist, and completed after 2023. No derivatives or copies are eligible. Artwork must be the sole conception of the artist. Works done under instruction are not eligible. Works previously exhibited in other OSA shows are not eligible.
2. Artwork must be available for sale. The Georgina Art Gallery will take 20% and OSA will take a 20% commission on the sale of each artwork for a total of 40%. The OSA does not collect HST please include this in your price, if you remit.
3. Artwork must be available for display during the entire exhibition.
4. A brief (100 words maximum) written statement of each work must be included with the entries.
All works must be completely dry and ready to hang or display. Unframed work must be on minimum 1.5″ gallery depth surface with finished edges. Regular depth surface must be framed. All accepted two-dimensional works must be ready to hang with D-rings and multi-strand picture wire.
- 2D: Maximum size is 48 inches in width, including frame.
- 3D: Maximum dimensions 36″ x 24 ″x 24″ (92cm x 61cm x 61cm) and a weight limit of 30 lbs (13.6 kg). Crates should be able to fit through a standard single door. The Gallery can provide a suitable plinth for 3D works, but artists should be prepared in the event a plinth won’t suit the work.
5. Shipping of work to and from the exhibit is the sole responsibility of the artist. The Georgina Gallery or the OSA assume no responsibility or liability for loss occurring in transit or off Gallery property. Obtain your own insurance. Arrange shipping with the Gallery. (Details on acceptance).
6. All packaging materials must be labelled with the artists name and work, and include an inventory of all materials necessary for shipping.
7. Upon arrival, artwork will be inspected. Any damage will be reported to the owner immediately.
8. The exhibit is juried by digital images and video files. Do not send original artwork. Digital files must be in .jpg format, with a maximum of 1080 pixels on the longest side and 2 MB.
- Label your images as follows: Last name_First name_title_ size_medium_price.
- For sculpture entries, please submit at least 2 images per artwork corresponding with the numbers on your submission.
- For video or electronic work, prepare a still image and an mp4. or mov. format. Do not compress the files and do not include hyper links to other sites with your images.
9. Video art needs to include all necessary display equipment. The video should not be longer than 10 minutes.
10. All works must be the sole conception of the artist; no derivatives or copies are eligible. No use of AI generated images for reference may be used; artists may be required to submit progress images. Works done under instruction are not eligible. Work selected for the exhibition must be as submitted for jurying, or it will be disqualified.
