This group exhibition seeks creative artistic production that engages with concepts of community, care, and resilience. In this time of potential isolation and disconnection, the Digital Mural Project is eager for Indigenous youth to share their visual and creative responses to change. Images and artworks may explore new ideas of community in the contemporary world, the historical impact of resilience, artistic growth and transformation, new ways of fostering connections and relationships between self, community, and place, or any other creative interpretations related to resilience and community.
These explorations can be made through any visual media, be it digital or documentation of a physical object. The gallery platform supports the presentation of high-quality images, videos, audio and digitally rendered objects. We are open to all stories and forms of expression, from painting, to spoken word, to animations, to customary. The exhibition will be curated by leading curators and artists including Franchesca Hebert-Spence, Adrienne Huard, Jennifer McGregor, Tom McLeod, and Mikinaak Migwans. Participants will be offered an honorarium of $180.00.
Deadline for submissions: September 25th, 2020.
Selected artists will be notified in October.
If there are questions about whether an artwork would be considered, or supported by the online gallery, please don’t hesitate to contact us! firstname.lastname@example.org
