Call for Submissions: Everyday Monuments, A Juried Exhibition for Black History Month
Neilson Park Creative Centre
Submission Deadline: Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:59pm
Notification Date: Friday, January 23, 2026
Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC) is proud to present Everyday Monuments, a Black History Month juried exhibition celebrating the beauty, joy, creativity, and resilience found in Black communities.
Open to Black artists working in 2D, 3D, and video, this exhibition invites submissions that explore the monumental within the seemingly ordinary through daily rhythms, cultural rituals, and shared traditions.
Inspired in part by the work of Thomas J Price, for the exhibition’s theme of ‘Everyday Monuments’ we encourage submissions that highlight the dignity, creativity, resilience, and joy embedded in the daily lives of Black communities. Whether through everyday rhythms, cultural rituals, shared traditions, or the spaces we move through, Everyday Monuments celebrates the moments, big or small, that deserve recognition, reflection, and remembrance.
More exhibition programming including film screenings and exhibition dates will be revealed in the coming weeks.
