NPCC Celebrates Pride!

Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC) is pleased to announce it’s fourth annual call for submissions for it’s fourth annual Be Creative Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display from May 26 to June 12, 2026 in NPCC’s Art Space Connect Gallery.
NPCC invites artists (16+ years old) who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ community members to submit up to two artworks. The theme for the exhibition is “Be Creative.” Be Creative, Be You, Be All In! Visual artwork in any medium is welcome.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, NPCC is hosting its fourth annual fun-filled evening of events to celebrate Pride month including the exhibition reception and awards ceremony. You’re invited to take part in the festivities by participating in our free art activities, checking out our drag show and meeting members of our Resident Groups! All events are free of charge.

Project Requirements
- The exhibition theme is Be Creative, Be You, Be All In!
- Visual artwork in all mediums are welcome.
- Artists may submit up to two visual artworks.
Eligibility
The call for entry is open to all artists (16+ years old) who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ community members.
Juror
Steve Rose
Artist | Art Instructor
Steve Rose is a graduate from OCAD (BFA) and holds a master’s degree from the University of Windsor (MFA).
He has exhibited his work extensively and has a diverse and experienced background in art education.
In addition to his active independent studio practice, Steve enjoys lecturing on fine art, artistic movements and art history. Steve is constantly involved in mentoring artists in various creative collaborations and workshops.
His work is collected in private and corporate international collections.
Awards
Winners selected by the juror will be awarded the following cash prizes.
First Prize $500
Second Prize $300
Third Prize $200
Four Honorable Mentions $100 each
Selection Process
- All submitted artworks will be juried by NPCC’s Pride Committee members.
- Decisions will be made on the digital images submitted by the artist.
- Selected artists will be notified by email by April 17, 2026 of acceptance or not into the exhibition.
- Juror, Steve Rose, will choose and announce the award winners on Friday, June 5, 2026. The juror’s decision is final.
Submission Requirements
- Each artist may submit up to two visual artworks in any medium.
- Submissions are complete after the application form and images are received.
- All submitted 2-D artwork must not exceed 50 pounds. 2-D artworks must be wired and ready to hang. D rings are acceptable provided they are a minimum of ½ inch in diameter.
