Call for Submissions: Public Art Installation in Atrium of the Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building
Faculty of Management, Dalhousie University, Halifax
Submission Deadline: January 26, 2026, 11:59pm AT
Dalhousie is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a professional artist or artist collective to create a captivating, highly visible mural or art installation inside the Kenneth C. Rowe Management building which will showcase the intersection of art and management education. The installation will be at the entrance in the lobby of the Rowe building. It’s a prominent and visible area which can be viewed both from the outside, through large exterior windows, and inside the lobby.
The Rowe is the home of the Faculty of Management, where undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in programs centred around business, management and leadership studies. A dynamic hub for the faculty, the university and the broader community, the Rowe houses a number of research laboratories, accelerator labs, and is frequently used for conferences and events.
Project Requirements
Proposals should explain how the installation will reflect the faculty’s ongoing commitment to:
- grow, nurture, and support a diverse and inclusive community;
- inspire social and economic innovation and action;
- cultivate conversations and nurture our connections to our place in the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.
All mediums are welcome, but it must be suitable for an indoor location with significant natural light. The medium would need to maintain vibrancy for a minimum of 5 years.
Both original works and visual reproductions will be considered.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to both emerging and established artists, particularly those with experience in public art. Preference will be given to submissions from artists currently residing in Nova Scotia, or artists currently residing elsewhere who have a personal connection to Nova Scotia, or those with a personal connection to Dalhousie.
