We’re thrilled to announce our first art competition here at 100 Kellogg Lane hosted by Courtyard Events called Art Comp. We’re doing an open call to invite all artists globally to submit their work.

Art Comp is a competition open to all local, national and international artists, both professional and amateur. One hundred artists will be chosen to have their art displayed throughout the property at 100 Kellogg Lane from May to September 2022. 100 Kellogg Lane is here to inspire the community and generate conversation through global art. We want to challenge creators to think and explore outside of everyday life. To entertain and create a fun and thought-provoking art exhibition for the viewers. This competition is open to all ages and local, national, and global artists.

Important Dates
February 8th, 2022 – Submissions open.
February 28th, 2022 @11:59pm EST – Application submission deadline.
March 8th, 2022 – Artists notification if selected.
May 12th, 2022 – Artwork must be on the premises.
May 28th- September 8th, 2022 – The art will be displayed at 100 Kellogg Lane in London, Ontario.
September 8th, 2022 – Closing award night at 100 Kellogg Lane.
September 15th, 2022 – Local artwork pick-up.
September 19th, 2022 – Mailed artwork shipped.

Submitting Artwork

  • All art mediums will be considered, and there will be both indoor and outdoor installations.
  • No size limitations.
  • Open theme.
  • Artists can submit up to three pieces.
  • Submissions must include one JPEG image of each artwork, at least 300 DPI.
  • If submitting a rendering, it must be an accurate representation of the artwork to be presented.
  • All artwork must be original.
  • Artwork can be up to five years old.
  • The pieces submitted must not have won an award before.
  • All work must arrive ready to install, including any special instructions for hanging.
  • Work received must be accurately represented by images submitted online.
  • Members of the panel are not eligible to submit artwork.
  • Artists are responsible for insurance of their artwork if they choose.
  • Artists are responsible for the cost of shipping the artwork to and from 100 Kellogg Lane.

The Process

  • Open to all ages and local, national, and global artists.
  • A panel of professionals and aficionados will select the Panel’s Choice Award using online software.
  • The public will vote for the People’s Choice Award using online software.
  • The public can vote for the duration of the exhibition.
  • The panel will vote during the exhibition dates.
  • Selected artworks cannot be withdrawn from the competition during the exhibition dates.
  • Selected artworks will be included in a full-color guide, with reproductions of their works, their names, and a short description of their artwork. Each artist is entitled to one free guide.
  • Artists have the option of selling their artwork on closing award night. CYE will retain a 15% commission on all sales.

Judging is based on the following:

  • Originality
  • Quality of artistic composition and design.
  • Creativity in expression.
  • Overall presentation.

The Art Comp exhibition will be open to the public from May 28th to September 8th, 2022. Guide booklets will be available in the Atrium at 100 Kellogg Lane, guiding guests on a tour of the exhibition. Guests will be allowed to cast one vote per person/email address to nominate their favourite artwork for the People’s Choice award.
