Call for Submissions: 4th Annual Fulford Place Juried Fine Art Show and Exhibition Fundraiser

Application Deadline: April 15, 2026

The Friends of Fulford Place and the Ontario Heritage Trust are pleased to host the 4th Annual Juried Fine Art Show and Exhibition Fundraiser. The show will open Friday, May 1 at 5pm and will continue on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2026. The location will be within the historical Fulford Place, 287 King Street East, Brockville. Over $1,000 is available in prizes.

Artwork Requirements:

Two-dimensional artwork only in oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, ink, pencil, charcoal, mixed media or collage (the use of photographic images is acceptable in mixed media).

Unacceptable media includes photography, computer-generated or AI art, textile and fabric art.

Artwork Specifications:

Including the frame: minimum size is 30.5cm x 30.5cm (12″ x 12″), maximum size is 91.5cm x 91.5cm (36″ x 36″).

Diptychs and triptychs will be accepted as one entry and must adhere to the total minimum and/or total maximum required dimensions as stated above (this is to say that two paintings must not be less than 12″ x 12″ or more than 36″ x 36″).

Digital Image Submission Requirements:

  • JPG or JPEG, 72 DPI, 1000 pixels along the longest side (or approximately 1MB)
  • Ensure your images are high quality, clear, in focus, evenly lit and cropped to artwork edges without a boarder.
  • Title your image files with the artist’s name, artwork title, dimension (H x W) use underscores to note spaces. (Example: MarySmith_TitleofArtwork_24x24.jpg)

Entry Fee:

The entry fee is $35 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece to a maximum of three pieces ($55), payable by clicking on the link provided on the artist application form. The fee is non-refundable and is due on submission of your digital images.

Originality:

  • All submitted work must have been completed within the last three years.
  • All artwork must be original and without the assistance of instruction or the use of artificial intelligence.
  • No copies from other artists or from published material will be accepted, including stock photography, reproductions or derivatives. All artwork and reference material, including photographs, must be the original work of the artist and may be requested by jurors.
  • No repeat entries. Please do not submit entries from previous years.
  • Works received that do not match the submitted digital image or meet the expectations and standards of the show, will not be displayed.
  • All paintings must be dry to the touch.

Hanging, Mounting and Framing:

  • All work must be ready to hang with proper wiring and D-rings only. No sawtooth hangers. We will not accept work that is not ready to hang.
  • We welcome framed and unframed works. If the work is designed to hang unframed, the sides must be painted for a tailored, finished look. If glazing is used, plexiglass is preferred.
  • There will be no matting limits and it is the responsibility of the artist to submit entries in a coherent, presentable unit.

Sale Price, Commission and Labelling:

  • There is no minimum or maximum sale price limit.
  • 25% of the sale price will be deducted as commission to the Friends of Fulford Place. No sales tax will be deducted from the proceeds to the artist.
  • All accepted pieces must have a label with the artist’s name, title of work, medium and sale price adhered to the back when dropped off.
  • There will be no substitutions accepted.
  • Sale price must match price noted in your submission.

Sale of Artwork:

  • Artists whose work is sold during the exhibition will not receive payment until after the purchase payment has been cleared.
  • Payment for work sold will be via cheque either given to you at the show or mailed to you afterwards.
  • The Friends of Fulford Place retains a 25% commission on all sales.

Acceptance of Work:

The jurors’ decisions are final and artists will be notified no later than April 26, 2026 by email.

Representatives:

The hanging committee will reject any pieces that do not meet the requirements indicated in the rules of entry.

  • Artwork drop-off: Friday, May 1, 2026, 9am – Noon
  • Opening reception and award presentation: Friday, May 1, 2026, 5 – 8pm

Show Times:

  • Friday, May 1, 2026, 5 – 8pm
  • Saturday, May 2, 2026, 10am – 4pm
  • Sunday, May 3, 2026, 10am – 3pm

Collection of Artwork After the Show:

  • All unsold artwork will remain on display until 3pm on Sunday, May 3, 2026, with no exceptions.
  • Unsold artwork must be picked up between 3 and 4pm on Sunday, May 4, 2026. We are unfortunately unable to keep any artwork beyond May 3.

The artists agree to allow the Friends of Fulford Place Association and the Ontario Heritage Trust to take photos and videos of their artwork on display to be used for marketing and promotional materials in print or digitally on social media.
