International Multispecies Methods Research Symposium: Intuitive Interspecies Communication (2023)
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Expression of Interest Deadline: January 20, 2023
Final Artistic Submissions Due: March 30, 2023
Symposium Dates: May 8 – 12, 2023 (2-5hr/day, online)

The International Multispecies Methods Research Symposium invites submissions for artistic works in any media which explore themes related to Intuitive Interspecies Communication.

The precarity of this time demands a radical shift in human activity and reorientation toward the bio-systems that sustain us. Many individuals from all walks of life are recognizing that they can communicate with the natural world and are using these skills to reorient relations and solve practical problems. We refer to this interspecies engagement as intuitive interspecies communication (IIC): the exchange of information between humans and other animals without the need for cues normally associated with communication (e.g. sound, sight, smell, etc.). Artistic works with direct connections to IIC will be assessed for display in an online digital exhibition.

For more information and to submit, please visit the Symposium Website.

Images of works should be submitted via URL links in the text to your work/website. If links to works are not available, please send up to 3 images of works to be considered as attachments not exceeding 1080 X 720 pixels, and 300 dpi, labelling each image as 01_artistname_artworktitle_2022, 02_artistname_artworktitle_2021, etc.

Film and Video will only be accepted via links to Vimeo or Youtube. All links must go directly to your support material and should not require further navigation or a file to be downloaded.
