Calling All Artists!
Proposals for art projects are now being accepted for Nuit Blanche Toronto’s Open Call and Independent Project programs. Submissions must respond to the 2024 theme – Bridging Distance.
This theme encourages artists to recalibrate and reconnect with Toronto, the world and each other in public spaces – exploring the multifaceted ways we experience, understand and bridge distance through contemporary art. Learn more about the 2024 theme and Artistic Director.

Open Call Program
Canadian and International artists are eligible to submit proposals for the Open Call program. Projects are selected by the Nuit Blanche Artistic Director and curators in consultation with City of Toronto staff.
Open Call projects are funded up to $15,000 CAD and produced by the City of Toronto.
Submission Deadline: Sunday, January 21, 2024, 11:59 p.m. EST

Independent Projects Program
Toronto based artists are eligible to submit proposals for the Independent Projects program.
Independent Projects are self-produced works staged in traditional and non-traditional art spaces across Toronto. Project locations may include public parks, galleries, storefronts, office towers, streets, sidewalks etc.
Proposals of any artistic discipline are welcomed but must have a strong visual component and be rooted in contemporary art practices.
Successful applicants receive a $1,750 CAD honorarium to cover artist fees and material.
