Calling All Canadian Artists: Exhibit at Medalta’s Yuill Family Gallery

Are you ready to bring your vision into one of Canada’s most inspiring creative spaces? We’re thrilled to open submissions for our annual Community Artist Exhibition at Medalta, where heritage meets innovation, craft meets contemporary, and where your voice can shine!

Whether you’re emerging or established, working solo or as part of a duo/trio, this is your invitation to step into the light and create an experience for our visitors. Our gallery is set within the historic clay-industry heart of Medicine Hat, Alberta. The 3,500-square-foot Yuill Family Gallery features exposed brick, factory-era architectural character, moveable and stationary walls, plinths, display shelves and the kind of space that gives your work room to breathe and connect.

Who Can Apply?

Artists at any stage of their practice, working in any medium, from across Canada. You can submit either a solo exhibition proposal or a group proposal (up to three artists) as one entry.

What We’re Looking For

Ideas that explore creativity in all its forms! Work that connects craft and contemporary art, heritage and innovation, tradition and new directions. We love proposals that imagine something bold, thoughtful and site-aware: we’re inside a historic pottery factory after all.

Application Requirements
Your proposal should include:

• Artist CV & bio
• Exhibition statement or concept
• Minimum five samples (images + details) of past or in-progress work
• A brief statement about why Medalta is the right venue for you.

Ready to Go?

Head to our website at Medalta.org and submit your complete proposal via our online form. Only fully completed proposals will be considered. Because space is limited and we’re committed to a high standard, we encourage you to submit early and thoughtfully.
