Call for Proposals: ARTSPLACE Main Gallery Exhibitions 2026–2027

ARTSPLACE invites applications from professional visual artists for the 2026-2027 season

We are seeking proposals from individual artists, groups, collectives or curators.
As a community arts organisation in a rural area, we are particularly interested in proposals that offer opportunities to connect the project/exhibition with the public.
Proposals that combine the project/exhibition with a residency are welcome. Such residencies are unpaid. Artists proposing a residency are encouraged to apply for additional support funding.

Eligibility
- Open to all professional artists.
- Must meet the criteria of the Canada Council for professional artists in the visual arts.
Compensation
- Juried exhibitions are fee paid, and the work is not for sale for the duration of the exhibition.
- Fees are based on CARFAC fee schedules (est. $2500 with possibility of up to $1000 toward travel or transport receipts).
Selection Process
- Proposals are reviewed by the Exhibition Committee, a jury of professional artists.
- Successful submissions are selected based on artistic merit, connection to the community, and viability.
- We present up to four exhibits each year. Typically, exhibits are four to seven weeks long.
- Artists will be notified by August 26, 2025.
Submission Requirements
- Only one proposal per applicant, for groups please include information for each artist, with one main applicant completing the name/address/email/etc. fields.
- Concise and clear exhibition proposal and artist statement.
- Images can include audio/video samples. Please, edit appropriately for viewing, including your name and the corresponding number on the supplied image list (e.g. 01_SmithJ). Where possible, please provide installation shots.
- Copies of catalogue texts or reviews, as well as links to interviews or artist talks (if relevant).
