Call for Entry: Holiday Treasures Craft Market

Submission Deadline: Friday, August 21, 2026, 12pm (noon) ET

The Museum of Dufferin invites artists, makers, and craftspeople working in all mediums to apply to the 2026 Holiday Treasures Craft Market—a juried seasonal market featuring more than 60 vendors in the Museum’s Main Gallery over two weeks.

Museum staff handle all sales throughout the event through a shared point-of-sale system, creating a seamless, hands-off experience for participating vendors. Vendors are responsible for preparing and labelling inventory, setting up displays, coordinating drop-off and pick-up, and helping promote the market using provided materials. Vendors are not present onsite during the sale, allowing work to be showcased and sold while they focus on their practice.

Following a record-setting 2025 season with over 1,700 visitors and more than $80,000 in sales, Holiday Treasures returns for its 22nd year in 2026—continuing to grow as one of the region’s most vibrant and well-loved seasonal craft markets. We look forward to welcoming another exceptional lineup of artists and makers for an exciting year ahead.

Vendors can expect:

• Strong exposure through curated seasonal market featuring more than 60 Ontario artists, makers, and craftspeople
• Their work showcased alongside ceramics, textiles, jewellery, woodwork, glass, home décor, gourmet treats, and one-of-a-kind gifts
• High visitor engagement during a relaxed, festive holiday shopping experience in the Museum’s Main Gallery
• Meaningful sales opportunities driven by visitors seeking unique, locally made, handcrafted goods
• Participation in a well-established annual tradition that celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and local talent
• Sales are tracked throughout the event, with a mid-sale check-in for vendors who wish to restock.

Important Dates and Details

• Submission Deadline: August 21, 2026, 12pm
• Acceptance / Decline Notifications: September 10, 2026
• Vendor Set-Up: November 20 – 21, 2026, 9am – 7pm
• Show Dates: November 25 – December 6, 2026
• Take-Down: December 6, 2026, 5 – 7pm and December 7, 2026, 9am – 2pm

Jurying

All applications and images are reviewed through a three-step jury process:

1. Staff Review
Museum of Dufferin staff review applications for completeness, relevance, and overall quality. Some submissions may not proceed beyond this stage.

2. External Jury Review
A panel of artists, makers, and community members independently reviews eligible applications and submits their selections to Museum staff for tallying.

3. Jury Committee Meeting
The jury meets with Museum staff to review results, discuss submissions, and finalize selections. Final approval is provided by Museum leadership.

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on:

• Design: originality, creativity, and overall design quality
• Quality of Work: craftsmanship, finishing, materials, and presentation
• Salability: market appeal, pricing, safety, and customer suitability
• Variety: ensuring a diverse mix of products and price points
• Space Availability: limited capacity (approx. 65 vendors in the Main Gallery)

How to Enter

• Please carefully review the Call for Entry page on the Museum of Dufferin website to familiarize yourself with the application process, event details, and the Museum’s terms and conditions.
• Complete the application form at the bottom of the Call for Entry page.
• Submit up to four (4) images of your work to support your application. Please note that applications submitted without images will not be considered for jurying.
• Applicants will be notified of acceptance or decline by Tuesday, September 10, 2026.
