Call for Artists: Anne Foster Windows Program

Application Deadline: May 15, 2019

The City of Hamilton invites Hamilton artists to design music-themed window installations for the Anne Foster Windows Program. The Anne Foster Windows are located in the historic Lister Building, 28 James Street North, in the same storefront where the Anne Foster Music shop operated from 1942 to 1995.

Through this annual call, four artists or artist teams will be selected to create window installations from September 2019 to August 2020. Each window installation will be displayed for approximately 3 months.

The City of Hamilton’s Tourism and Culture Division coordinates the Anne Foster Windows Program as part of their ongoing support of Hamilton’s creative industries.

Artist Honorarium:
The fee per display is $1,000 + HST (if applicable).

The Anne Foster Windows Program is open to any current resident, aged 18 years or older, of the City of Hamilton (including Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook, Stoney Creek, Waterdown). Artist teams may apply provided all members meet the residency requirements.

Artists can be at various stages of their career such as emerging, mid-career and established, working in a variety of mediums and materials.
