Call for Applications: Artist Residency Program at Clark Centre for the Arts, Toronto

Deadline: July 27, 2026, 11:59pm ET

The Artist Residency Program at Clark Centre for the Arts welcomes professional artists to think, experiment, work and create in an artistic lakeside yet urban environment, culminating in a one-month exhibition of the artist-in-resident’s work in Gallery 191. Clark Centre for the Arts is dedicated to engaging and supporting artists and encourages applications from members of equity-deserving communities.

Two residencies will be offered to professional artists during regular operating hours, from mid January to mid December.

What You’ll Receive

The residency offers a working environment that supports the artistic process. The artist will receive:

  • The use of an artist-in-residence studio space during operating hours, with a monthly schedule approved in advance by the site;
  • Exhibition space in Gallery 191 at the Clark Centre for the Arts for one month in 2027;
  • Use of the first-floor lobby space for an opening reception, usually on the first or second Saturday of the exhibition month from 1 to 3pm;
  • Promotion of the exhibition through established City of Toronto public relations channels; and,
  • An honorarium to support the artist’s commitment and potential materials/supplies expenses accrued while creating a Gallery 191 exhibition.

Who Can Apply?
