Deepen Your Creative Practice at Vermont Studio Center
Full and Partial Fellowships Available for Artists and Writers

A Vermont Studio Center residency provides artists and writers from around the world with the time and space to deepen their creative practice while building a solid network of mentors, collaborators, and friends. Sessions run for two, three, and four weeks, and include resident presentations, open studios, and an acclaimed Visiting Artists & Writers program.

Nestled in the Green Mountains, Vermont Studio Center hosts a global community within a historic, pastoral village. The walkable campus provides private studios, a dining hall, and private rooms in shared lodging along the banks of the Gihon River. Residents can explore swimming holes, hiking and biking trails, and the rural charm of neighboring towns as they expand their creative potential and build a creative community.

To ensure that all residents can participate in programs as fully as possible, we work with residents individually on specific accommodation. The fall 2026 open call runs from August 15 through September 30 and will fill residencies from July 2027 to December 2027. Each session welcomes 40 residents of varying mediums and genres at all career levels. All residents receive partial fellowships and 35% receive full fellowships.
