The Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) is a professional association for visual artists living and working across Ontario with a mandate to promote the visual arts through exhibitions, special projects and arts advocacy. Our membership roster includes many of Canada’s best-known painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers. Our rich history includes artists such as Tom Thomson, Paul Peel, J.E.H MacDonald, Arthur Lismer, Florence Wyle, Frances Loring, and Doris McCarthy, among many others. We currently have an active membership of over two hundred artists, working in a wide range of media and from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We are a Canadian registered charitable organization, administered by a volunteer executive council of artists. Founded in 1872, the Ontario Society of Artists is Canada’s longest continuing art society.

Application Fee: $45

Accepted applicants will be notified by December 20, 2025.

Our successful candidates will be able to start participating in January 2026 in all of our projects.

The decision of the New Members Selection Committee and the OSA membership is final.

Eligibility: This call is open to all professional artists currently living in Ontario.

Basic Criteria:

• Ontario resident
• Excellence and Skill in the chosen medium(s)
• Level of Achievement
• Willingness to be actively involved in our Society
