Bateman Family: A Sense of Place

The Batemans cherish the memories of their summer holidays spent at the family cottages in Haliburton County. Their experiences over several decades are captured in this personal family exhibit featuring paintings by renowned artist and naturalist Robert Bateman; Alan, Brad, Jack & Ross Bateman, and photographs by Birgit Freybe Bateman.
The exhibit will display early artwork of sentimental value to Robert plus special pieces from his own collection including Among the Leaves and Queen Anne’s Lace & American Goldfinch. Original works and limited-edition prints by the Bateman family will be on display, as well as a selection of originals and prints available for sale.
Bateman Family: A Sense of Place will be on display at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre – Agnes Jamieson Gallery July 6 – September 2, 2023. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 8 from 1-4 pm. Pre-registration is required for the Artist Talk at 1:30 pm. The Agnes Jamieson Gallery is a public gallery with year-round visual exhibitions of local and regional art. The Gallery is part of the Minden Hills Cultural Centre which also includes the Museum, Heritage Village and Nature’s Place Interpretive Centre. The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is located at 176 Bobcaygeon Road, Minden, Ontario and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is by donation.
