ARTCON 2021: Online Conference for Creative People and Emerging Artists

We invite you to ARTCON!

June 22 – 26, 2021

ARTCON is a globally accessible, student run conference for creative people and emerging artists presented by the Etobicoke School of the Arts Contemporary Art Department.

Guest speakers include the Director of the National Gallery of Canada Alexandra Suda and internationally exhibiting Canadian artist Brendan Fernandes. ARTCON is free and registration is available at contemporaryartcommunity.com/artcon.

The Importance of the Arts in Diverse Fields
Join ESACA graduates following non-art education and career pathways discussing how creativity, community, and an artistic practice can amplify disciplines such as cognitive science, astrophysics, engineering, neuroscience and mathematics. Hosted by Rivka Mitchell who earned her undergraduate and masters degrees in Mathematics at McGill University.

Join host – artist and author Luca Soldovieri in a discussion on the significance of a community, vulnerability, empathy and love in all of life’s endeavours.

Stephanie Cristello and Brendan Fernandes
International curator, writer, Artistic Director of Expo Chicago and Director of Chicago Manual Style ESACA graduate Stephanie Cristello interviews Canadian contemporary artist Brendan Fernandes about his work addressing issues of race, queer culture, migration, and cultural displacement through visual art and dance.
