Galeries Ontario / Ontario Galleries (GOG) is thrilled to announce the 2025 Silent Auction, part of our GOG Awards Gala happening on December 1, 2025. This prestigious event celebrates excellence and achievement across the visual arts sector, and your participation in the silent auction will directly support GOG’s vital programming for art galleries, artists, and cultural professionals across Ontario.

This year’s theme, Make Your Mark – Laissez Votre Marque, focuses on defending Canadian cultural sovereignty, and supporting the arts as a public good. This theme calls for collective imagination and urgent action: to protect and nurture the expressions that make us feel alive, connected, and human. In a time of heightened social, environmental, economical and political volatility, Galeries Ontario / Ontario Galleries (GOG) is leading the dialogue on protecting and standing up for Canadian culture – that it is not a commodity, vulnerable to political pressures, but is essential to our sovereignty.

Visit our Silent Auction Website to browse all items, place bids, and learn more about the prizes. The site will be available from November 10 to December 1, 2025 at 11:45pm, giving you plenty of time to bid and secure your favourite items! You can bid online anytime, 24/7, from the open date until the close date.

How the Auction Works

Bidding online is easy and convenient! All you need to do is sign up. The website supports different bidding types depending on your preference.

Alongside the regular, manual bidding option, there is an option for proxy bidding. A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you’re willing to spend with the goal of winning the item at the lowest possible price. The system will bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item.

There is also a ‘Buy Now’ option. Don’t want to wait for the bidding to be over, or just really want that prize? Click the ‘Buy Now’ option, and it is yours. It’s that simple!

Do You Need an Account?

To bid, simply create an account (quick and easy) on the auction site. No account is needed to view the items, but registering ensures you’re notified if you win!

How Do You Receive Your Prize?

Please make sure you check your email if you have a winning bid. A GOG staff member will be in contact with you to arrange your prize. For digital items your prize will be emailed to you. For physical items a GOG staff member will reach out to coordinate pick-up at the GOG office.
