View into 2nd year MFA Ashley Beerdat’s studio, 2023.

This is a unique opportunity to meet these artists on their own turf—to have a look at their process and see what’s in production. The event also coincides with Fine Arts Open House. Visitors can tour East Campus Hall, meet faculty, staff, and students, visit UWAG, and see our facilities firsthand. A full schedule of events can be found here.

About UWaterloo’s MFA Program:
A key feature of our program is the Keith and Win Shantz International Research Scholarships, which enable all MFA candidates to travel and study alongside a professional artist during their summer term. Our students have been to Brazil, China, England, France, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Prague, Scotland, Spain, and the United States.

We offer competitive funding, the Shantz Scholarship experience, one-on-one mentoring with distinguished faculty, plenty of access to facilities, a solo exhibition in our nationally renowned gallery UWAG, and teaching placements.

For more information, please contact Professor Lois Andison, Associate Chair of Graduate Studies. You can also check out our website and follow MFA activities on Instagram @waterloomfa.
