Since 1959 Dorset Fine Arts has released an annual collection of prints created by the Inuit artists of Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut, in the Canadian Arctic. This world-renowned selection of prints demonstrates the mastery and unique style of the Cape Dorset artists, as well as the diverse and divine inspirations of the North.

As one of the first establishments to represent Inuit and First Nations art in Toronto, the Craft Ontario Shop is proud to continue to support the rich history and culture of Canada’s Indigenous peoples.

The Annual Cape Dorset Collection has a long tradition of high quality art prints, and has an active audience and following. To anticipate the demand, Dorset Fine Arts sets an official release date for the collection, every year. The prints are released for sale on October 15th this year!

See the collection virtually to find your favourite pieces, or read our coverage of notable pieces from this year’s collection.

It is a very different experience to enjoy the prints in person, as there are physical details that are difficult to capture in digital images. The prints’ rich colours, embossing and texture must be appreciated in person!
