The 19th Annual C Magazine Contemporary Art Auction is closing soon! Don’t miss your chance to take home original work by some of the most exciting artists active in Canada today, and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing work of C Magazine. This year’s memorable collection features 52 works by emerging and established artists working in painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, and beyond. Help C Magazine continue to offer a vital platform for diverse artists, writers, and thinkers and show your support for Canadian-led contemporary art, art writing and criticism! Funds raised at our annual auction are essential to sustaining our ability to publish C Magazine, present inspiring public programs, and mentor emerging art writers and publishers throughout the year. Every bid at the auction allows C to commission a new article or artist project, or to review a new exhibition or book. C Magazine supports the work of individual artists, writers, educators, and students and remains essential to the vitality of contemporary art in Canada. We couldn’t do it without you!
Charitable tax receipts for all auction purchases are issued by C The Visual Arts Foundation (charitable no. 88643 1162) for the portion of artworks in excess of their estimated market value. C Magazine is a contemporary art and criticism periodical that functions as a forum for significant ideas in art and its contexts. C is published in print and online by C The Visual Arts Foundation, a registered charitable organization established to present ideas, advance education, and document contemporary visual art and artist culture in Canada.
Published three times per year, our print issues each explore a theme that is singularly engaged with emerging and prevailing perspectives through original art writing, criticism, and artist projects. Our content focuses on contemporary art in Canada and the activities of Canadian practitioners living abroad—with an emphasis on those from Black, Indigenous, diasporic, and other equity-deserving communities—as well as on international practices and dialogues. We are committed to facilitating meaningful, pluralistic, interdisciplinary, historically-engaged, and imaginative conversations about art.
