about
The Film+Photography Preservation and Collections Management program provides students with a two-year comprehensive education in the theory, history, practice and methods of still and moving image preservation. The only program of its kind in the world, F+PPCM offers a professional curriculum developed and delivered by a range of specialists, from historians and practitioners of photo- and film-based media to museum, library and archive professionals.
professional experience
The program includes a required internship and second-year residency at a growing list of local, national and international partner institutions, including Art Gallery of Ontario and Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto; Cinémathèque Québécoise in Montreal; EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam; the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (UK), among others. Research and Graduate Assistant opportunities are available in both streams.
admission requirements
- A four-year honours Bachelor degree, or equivalent
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (B) or equivalent in the final half of the program
