The City of Toronto invites creative, community-focused organizations to submit an Expression of Interest (REOI) to operate a new Sunday program at 92 Front Street East, in the historic St. Lawrence Market District.
Whether you’re a cultural producer, artist collective, community group, or local entrepreneur, if you’ve got a vision, we want to hear it.
What’s available:
- 12,500 sq. ft. indoor programmable space
- High-traffic, heritage venue
- Capacity up to 600 people
- Optional sidewalk space
- Fully equipped for events
Project Requirements
The City of Toronto is looking for creative, inclusive, and community-focused programming to bring Sundays to life at the newly revitalized St. Lawrence Market North. Programs can be cultural, social, artistic, educational, or commercial, and should reflect the diversity and energy of Toronto.
Here’s what you need to know:
- The available space includes 12,500 sq. ft. of indoor programmable area on the main floor.
- The lease is for 2 years, with the option to extend for another 2 years.
- Programming is preferred on Sundays, but other days may be considered.
- You can propose:
◦ A single program run by one operator
◦ A curated mix of programs led by one organizer
◦ A partnership between multiple groups
◦ Rotating or seasonal programs
Your proposal should:
- Be open to the public and contribute to the vibrancy of the Market District
- Align with the Market’s mission to be a welcoming, diverse, and culturally rich destination
- Reflect values of community, collaboration, equity, and inclusion
- Avoid conflicts with the existing Saturday Farmers Market
Please note: The City will not consider proposals for another farmers’ market, multinational franchises, or businesses involving pharmaceuticals, gambling, or adult-only content.

Eligibility
The City of Toronto is looking for applicants who:
- Have experience running public programs or events
- Are financially stable and ready to operate
- Can deliver inclusive, accessible programming
- Align with the Market’s mission and community values
- Are ready to bring something fresh to the space
Costs
- Interior Venue: $5,000 per day (7am to 7pm) plus HST
- Exterior Venue (use of sidewalk space): $750 per day plus HST (must be booked with indoor space)
- Extra hours: $400 per hour
- Equipment rentals available (tables, chairs, tents)
Selection Process
A Review Panel consisting of City staff from Corporate Real Estate Management, in consultation with other city departments, as well as external member(s) will review all REOI applications, as appropriate.
