Are you an artist in Brampton looking to gain public art experience? We are seeking 15 emerging artists to create digital artwork for traffic control boxes across the city. Apply by May 15, 2025. For details and to apply, visit brampton.ca/publicart.

Project Description

The City of Brampton is commissioning 15 Brampton artists to create artwork that will be installed on traffic control boxes throughout the city. This project will centre Brampton voices and aims to reflect the city’s diverse population, explore artists’ personal connection to Brampton, and capture the spirit and stories of the community. This opportunity is geared toward helping emerging artists build their public art portfolios.

Themes to Consider:

  • Celebrate and reflect Brampton’s unique identity, diversity, and multiculturalism.
  • Honour Indigenous living heritage.
  • Highlight the city’s distinctive communities and natural heritage features.

Artist Eligibility:

  • Connected to the local Brampton community (this includes current or former residents, or artists with a strong connection to the local community).
  • Artists who were selected for the 2024 Brampton BOXED program are not eligible for the 2025 program but may reapply in 2026.
