Social Enterprise 101
This micro-credential serves as a crucial platform for exploring the dynamic field of social enterprises, where profit-making is seamlessly intertwined with the advancement of societal and environmental well-being. Equipping students with the tools to navigate this multifaceted landscape, this micro-credential nurtures innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Starts online, January 16.

Advanced Social Media Marketing for Creative Entrepreneurs
Designed for emerging creative entrepreneurs, this micro-credential builds on the skills and concepts taught in the Social Media Marketing for Creative Professionals course. Students will learn how to develop their unique voice and professional brand, reaching both wide and focused audiences, to acquire and retain customers profitably and increase their competitiveness in the field. Starts online, March 12.

Web Development
This two-course micro-credential equips students with intermediate competency in web development. Topics include image preparation, video and audio compression, navigation, HTML and CSS authoring using Adobe Dreamweaver and Google Chrome. Students also gain an understanding of JavaScript and learn how to build interactive content using CSS and JavaScript. This micro-credential is supported by demonstrations, presentations, and discussions about the conceptual and technical skills for developing online content. Intro to Web Development starts online, March 11; Advanced web Development starts online, January 13.

Student Profile: Jillian Fernandes
Jillian earned the User Experience (UX) Design and Development Skills Certificate in the SCS. Jillian is an artist and businesswoman. Her skill set encompasses photography, user experience, art direction and customer service expertise. Jillian was a recipient of the RBC Continuing Studies Creative Professional Skills Fund.

Instructor Profile: Heather Gentleman
Heather Gentleman is a narrative artist who finds inspiration in literature, anthropology, and mythology. Her work is found in private and corporate collections in Canada, the U.S., Asia, France and Great Britain. Last summer, she participated in the Arctic Circle Residency. Heather teaches Drawing Skills Studio in the SCS.
