Cultural Expressions for CHANGE, in partnership with The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, presents the exhibition Unity Through the Arts

Come together to celebrate cultural diversity in Durham Region!

This juried art exhibition will feature artists from Durham Region and the surrounding GTA. It will unify the community around a love for the arts and an appreciation for cultural diversity.

Cultural Expressions for CHANGE Inc. is accepting online artist registrations now until October 5, 2024.

Requirements:

• All works must be original.
• Selected works must remain at the RMG for the entire exhibition duration.
• All two-dimensional works must be ready to hang on the wall with proper hanging hardware installed (D-rings, wire, or gravity bar).
• Two-dimensional works must be under 40lbs and a maximum of 36″ x 40″ (92 cm x 102 cm).
• Three-dimensional works must be under 75lbs and a maximum of 24″ (w) x 24″ (d) x 48″ (h).
• Digital media, moving images or video artwork should be submitted on properly labelled USB in .mov, mp4 or.gif format.
• Still digital artwork (photography and graphic art) must be printed and mounted for hanging to be considered.

Eligibility:

• The Unity Through the Arts: Juried Exhibition is open to all residents of
  Durham Region and surrounding GTA.
• Adult artists 19 and over, Youth artists 13-18.
• Due to limitations of space, a maximum of two works may be submitted per artist.
• The artworks must showcase and celebrate cultural diversity.
• An Artist Statement must be provided with each entry to ensure cultural sensitivity. A short statement (200 words or less) describing your connection to the culture portrayed in the artwork or relevance to the show’s theme.

Entry Fees:

• All entry fees are non-refundable.
• Adult (up to two works): $30
• Youth (up to two works): $10
• Payment Methods: You may pay by cash or e-transfer. Payments by e-transfer to be sent to: info@ce4c.ca. Payments by cash will be accepted during drop-off of work at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery.

How to Submit:

Entry Form and Fee:
To enter, the online artist submission form must be completed and the appropriate entry fee (cheque or e-transfer) must be received by Cultural Expressions by Saturday, October 5, 2024, 11:59pm.

Artwork Drop-off:
All Artwork must be dropped off on Thursday, October 17, 2024, 2-8pm at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery.

Accepted artists will be notified on October 19, 2024 after 7pm.
