Are you an artist in Brampton looking to gain public art experience? We are seeking 10 emerging artists to create digital artwork for traffic control boxes across the city. Apply by August 7, 2024. For details, visit brampton.ca/publicart.
Project Description
The City of Brampton is looking for ten (10) Brampton artists to create artwork, which will be displayed on traffic control boxes throughout the city. This project will centre Brampton voices while representing the city’s diverse population, exploring the artists’ connections to the city, and capturing the spirit and stories of Brampton. This opportunity is focused on helping emerging artists build their portfolios.

Themes to Consider:
- Celebrate and reflect Brampton’s unique identity, diversity, and multiculturalism.
- Honour Indigenous living heritage.
- Highlight the city’s distinctive communities and natural heritage features.
Artist Qualifications:
Connected to the local Brampton community (this includes current and former residents, and artists with a strong connection to the local community).
Artists who were successful in the 2023 program are ineligible for the 2024 program; however, they can reapply in 2025.
