Sunlight offers a series of photographs that capture the beauty of thoughts and moments before they are gone.

In her solo exhibition, Sara focuses on the small things in life using natural light and shadows as reminders of what is always present but often overlooked. The interventions of light and shadows over the non-representational paintings are captured to allow others to witness these unique moments in time that will never repeat.

Based on her ongoing project “Shadows”, Sara will present her latest limited-edition fine art photographs.

The images highlight the beauty of an everyday element that is often lost in the background. At the same time, the project explores the positive and negative beliefs associated with light and shadows, showing both as equally important and necessary for balance. After all, just as there would be no shadows without light, we only understand light because we know darkness.

The exhibition will run through the entire month of September. Everyone is welcome, but if possible, RSVP for the Meet the artist event.

Light Source is a two-story installation mural measuring approximately 22 feet tall and 95 feet long which integrates photographs of natural light and shadows over non-representational paintings. The artwork symbolizes a story being told along the wall by images that were captured to allow others to witness a unique instant.

The photographs were printed and dry-mounted onto aluminum panels measuring 30″ by 75″. The project was completed after almost a year’s worth of work and was revealed to the public in 2018.

Visit the installation mural at 951 Carlaw Ave anytime or during the Nuit Blanche event this September 23. Contact the artist to schedule a guided art tour at sara.vargas.nessi@gmail.com
