Dream-e-scape by Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer, continues to inform Nancy Newton’s mixed media drawings and paintings. Sound Seed is the third exhibition of work that explores the dynamic “otherworldly” spaces suggested by the innate emotional response it provides as well as the instrumentation it employs within the piece.

Sound Seed – Born from Music / is a document written by Nancy Newton that accompanies the exhibition. The text and illustrations give insight on the evolution of Newton’s visual responses and the creative process she was engaged in over a period of eight years. It also details her historical interest and involvement concerning music’s relationship with visual expression.
