About Caviar20

Established in 2009, Caviar20 focuses on the secondary market with an emphasis on 20th century works on paper from both Canadian and international artists. Located at 647 Dupont, the gallery also has a strong digital presence. In addition to various digital programming, we also present 3 or 4 annual exhibitions at the gallery.


  • In-house photographer responsible for monthly photo documentation of fine art for e-commerce sale.
  • 3-4 consecutive days of work a month: 1 day dedicated to photography at the gallery (approx. 6 hours) followed by 2-3 days (under 20 hours) for post-production editing completed remotely.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Set up the studio for photo sessions, including arranging lights, hanging blackout curtains, clearing space, moving furniture, and positioning/hanging art.
  • Work independently to photograph new inventory, including framed and unframed works, and occasionally sculptures.
  • Edit and Label a suite of 6-12 images for each piece of inventory.
  • Send finalized images via WeTransfer to the gallery team in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Collaborate with the gallery team to produce additional or variant images (i.e. vignettes or exhibition in-situ shots) unrelated to inventory.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in producing detail-oriented images, with the ability to accurately represent each artwork in its truest form.
  • Confident with moving, hanging, cleaning, and adjusting artwork for optimal images. Ability to independently lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, organization, and excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates an appreciation for art from the 1960s-1990s.
  • Experience with commercial/product photography and post-production is highly preferred.
  • Experience with shooting interiors/vignettes is desirable, although not required.

Required Equipment:

  • Applicants must come prepared with their DSLR camera (24-105 lens with image stabilization). Additional camera accessories may be provided onsite, as needed, on a case-by-case basis.
