Hard Twist 14: Entwined

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: April 30, 2019 @ 11pm EST

Hard Twist, the Gladstone Hotel’s annual contemporary textile and fibre arts exhibition, is now accepting submissions. Artists are invited to submit works that are entwined with the traditions, techniques and materials of the cultural space of Canada.

Hard Twist is an important annual event in the Canadian textile art community, as well as being a signature exhibition program for the Gladstone Hotel.

Why the @#&! do you paint?

Exhibition dates: October 10 – November 24, 2019

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: June 30, 2019 @ 11pm EST

The introduction of the camera changed the focus of painting away from representation towards different forms of expression. Now, the meaning of the work has surpassed the aesthetics. In this call we are looking for work packed with meaning and painted to “perfection”.
