Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This is the perfect job for someone who desires to make meaningful and direct impacts in the community by enhancing the citizen’s quality of life. As Cultural Development Coordinator – Initiatives, you will be responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of cultural events and initiatives, including the planning, delivery, and evaluation of those activities. This position works closely with external stakeholder in the cultural sector, multicultural communities including Indigenous peoples, contractors, government agencies, internal departments as well as suppliers and vendors to deliver meaningful and impactful events and initiatives for residents and visitors year-round. You will be the lead on these important functions for the town as you plan and deliver high quality municipal events and culture programs. You will ensure all initiatives are safe, accessible and are undertaken with the best value and interests of the community in mind, and the utmost care for risk management and environmental sustainability. As the volunteer manager for Town initiatives you will recruit, train, schedule and appreciate community volunteers who help make our extensive programs possible and successful. We are interested in a candidate that has experience working in multicultural and indigenous relationship building, working towards right relations.

Our ideal candidate is organized, friendly, and confident. They are looking for a unique role where they can highlight and further develop their creativity and keen attention to detail. Further, you will have the opportunity to develop your strong communication and relationship-building skills as you liaise with many talented people inside and outside the organization to ensure efficient and effective cultural programming. Strong organizational skills are required with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities. We are seeking an applicant that is passionate about the arts and has a university degree with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Arts Administration, Art History, Fine Arts, Cultural Planning. The successful applicant will have 3-5 years of experience in arts administration, event planning or cultural planning. Further knowledge of community events, cultural activities, initiatives, and resources in the Bow Valley will help you to be successful in this role!
Compensation:
Salary Range: $33.99 – $37.99
