August 27, 2020
Call for Artists Description
Transportation Investment Corporation, on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, is seeking to commission five professional artists or artist teams to create five site-specific, highly integrated public artworks; one per station for five SkyTrain stations for the Broadway Subway Project. Each station offers a unique public art opportunity. The public artworks will be integrated with the new transit stations and respond to the surrounding public realm design and station contexts.
There are opportunities for community-engaged art, integrated 2D artwork, suspended 3D artwork, applied 2D/3D artwork and light and projection artwork.
This opportunity is open to all artists and/or artist teams currently residing in Canada. Indigenous artists, emerging artists, and other artist groups who are under-represented are all encouraged to apply.
