Gloria Mok
Artist

Edmonton
April 25, 2018

Gloria Mok’s art is based on science, nature, and medicine. She works as a family physician during the day and morphs into an artist at night. Her art practice is diverse and includes x-ray technology, collage, and 3D composites. Metamorphosis, her exhibition of drawings at the Art Gallery of Alberta, is based loosely on forms from nature and the body. It is on display until July 1.

1. Dreaming up new projects

I am always on the lookout for new ideas. I figure that if there are many ideas, there may be the occasional good one! Here is an image of my current drawing show…

2. Noodles

A good bowl of steaming hot noodles for lunch like this one made by my daughter…

3. Natural history museums

I usually visit them when I travel. This is where I find source material.

4. Routine

I like to establish a daily routine that is both productive and enjoyable.

5. Collages

I hope my book of collages, titled Journey into the Anthropocene and soon to be published, will be a success.
