What You’ll Be Doing

The Art and Artefact Coordinator provides program, project and administration support to the Fine Art Department and Archives Department. The Art and Artefact Coordinator supports the management of the corporate Fine Art Collection and Archives Collection in preparation for and during the CIBC Square Art & Park Project.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Vendor Management - Engage with specialized vendors to coordinate the handling of art and artefacts including framing, deliveries, installation and conservation.
  • Relocation Support - Work with the Workplace Research & Design Team to assist with the relocation or placement of artworks for the CIBC Square Art & Park project.
  • Project Coordination - Provide project management support coordinating the movement, installation and display strategy of Art and Artefacts for the CIBC Square Art & Park Project.
  • Photography/Handling - Assist with the photography, digitization and handling of the Fine Art and Archives Collections.
  • Preservation - Follows best practices for the preservation and safekeeping of the Fine Art and Archives Collections.
  • Asset Management - Ensures that inventory tracking practices are implemented to ensure proper asset management.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in: Art/artefact collection management, including handling, storing and installing art and artefacts. You also possess experience in managing of projects, photography/digitization, data entry and database management, and digital editing. Your educational background is in a relevant field, including History, Art History, Fine Art, Museum or Collections Management, and/or equivalent experience

  • This role operates within a Mobile Workplace Strategy, a flexible and mobile way of working, enabling employees to work more effectively in their office space, and certain employees to work effectively from other locations (i.e. other CIBC offices, on the road, client/vendor sites).
