Studio Sessions Webinars for Artists
Learn Grant Writing Essentials from home!

Dates: February 21, 28 and March 7, 2018, 6 – 7pm AT

This three-part online workshop series focuses on grant writing essentials for artists. Each one hour session will allow artists from across the country to learn about tools for leveraging opportunities, drafting a proposal, and writing techniques from the comfort of their own home or studio. Presented by Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS), the series will be taught by artist and grant writing consultant Becka Barker.

Leveraging Opportunities will give an overview of how to find funding opportunities, what goes into a good grant, and how to utilize opportunities to best support your practice (February 21).

Proposal Anatomies will teach you how to draft a strong proposal while remaining true to your artistic vision and voice, because a well-written proposal is essential for convincing funders to support your work (February 28).

Artist, Writing gets into the nitty-gritty of writing: strengthen your command of grammar and syntax to help your proposal content and artist statements shine (March 7).

Individual webinars will be available to VANS members for $18, and $28 for non-members. Members can register for all three webinars for $45, and non-members can register for all three for $75. Complete descriptions and registration information can be found on the VANS Workshops page.

Let's be honest, it is hard get motivated to leave your house or studio and travel in winter weather to attend a workshop. This webinar series is short, jam-packed with great information and you can learn about grant writing without leaving home.
