LUNCH LADY, (F)NOR (Donna Akrey, Andrea Carvalho, Margaret Flood and Svava Juliusson), Documentation by Layne Hinton.

Art Spin is an interactive bike and art tour that first launched in Toronto in 2009. The spin creates alternative ways of experiencing art by placing it in unexpected venues throughout the city. Art Spin Hamilton’s inaugural ride in 2017 explored expansive abandoned spaces near the waterfront, little known urban infrastructure, hidden loading docks off rail spurs and more. Our 2018 spin promises to offer even more urban art adventures and we’re excited to receive your proposals!

Projects must be well suited for the nature of the event, and may include but are not limited to sculpture, installation, film & video, electronic & kinetic work, new media, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, performance art, dance, theatre, and music. Exhibiting artists will receive an Artist fee ranging from $500-$800, depending on the scope of the project.

Our upcoming tour will take place in July 2018, and will explore areas around the East end of Hamilton (in and around the Ottawa St. North area). Site-specific project proposals that engage with this area are encouraged.

Presented in Association with Art Spin Toronto.
