NSCAD University invites applications for 1 Assistant Professor, Painting and Drawing.
Subject to final approval, an initial three-year appointment, renewable for continuing appointment.

NSCAD is offering a tenure-track position in Painting/Drawing. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the ability to teach all levels of Painting and Drawing. Teaching assignments require familiarity with objective/observational and non-objective approaches. The successful applicant will be conversant with relevant contemporary and historical art discourses. Knowledge of expanded and innovative painting and drawing practices and innovative/interdisciplinary areas of inquiry are an asset. This position serves students in BFA and MFA programs.

NSCAD welcomes applications from those whose practices address and support diverse social and political perspectives including but not limited to: indigenous art, diasporic, feminist, queer and collaborative art practices.

Required: a minimum MFA in Fine Arts with a Painting and Drawing concentration (or equivalent terminal degree), active research and/or professional practice with the potential of a national and/or international reputation and relevant teaching experience. We seek a candidate with evidence of the skills required for departmental administration and committee work relating to the Division and University.
