Mississauga Arts Council

The Mississauga Arts Council is a 36 year-old not-for-profit organization that encases the collaborations of 217 arts organizations and 38,000 individual artists under one common umbrella. MAC acts as a catalyst to inspire, engage and connect opportunities within the community to encourage multi-disciplinary artists and facilitate networking in the arts scene across diverse cultures.

We were established in 1981 by City Resolution, and a non-profit registered charity governed by a Board of Directors. We aim to create a Mississauga that is a vibrant, creative, cultural community where arts and culture thrive.


Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and ambitious individual to join our talented team and make a difference in the vibrant Arts community in Mississauga.

The ideal candidate must have a passion for the Mississauga Arts Scene to cover its highlights and to contribute to and manage our website.

You should be a talented writer, a superb interviewer with good experience as a photographer/videographer. This includes a solid knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as video shooting and editing software.

With a knowledge of Mississauga's media landscape, you will be able to get and “share” the story, using Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and other social platforms, while reporting on their performance using analytics.

Assets: Experience and knowledge using MailChimp email blasts, Canva, knowledge of HTML and/or CSS along with great interpersonal skills.

Secondary communications tasks include; ensuring arts council websites and publications are up to date and to create and distribute content to promote events. Enhance relationships with sponsors, members, community partners, media outlets and fellow staff.
