Deadline: September 8, 2017

The Thames Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Call for Entry forms for the 2017 biennial Juried Exhibition are now available. Forms can be downloaded by clicking here, or by visiting our website.

The 2017 Juried Exhibition is open to all professional Ontario artists. All media will be accepted. Works must be original and completed within the last two years. A maximum of 2 works may be submitted by each artist. Submit entry by September 8, 2017. Selected artists will be paid according to CARFAC guidelines, one prize of $1000 will be awarded at the juror’s discretion. Please read through the form before submitting.

This year’s juror is Kendra Ainsworth - curator, arts administrator, and writer based in the Greater Toronto Area. She holds a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto with a focus on interpretation of contemporary art. Her practice focuses on collaboration with artists, providing accessible gallery experiences, and removing both intangible and tangible barriers to public engagement with contemporary art. Recent projects include the exhibitions Pattern Migration (2016), Beyond the Pines: Homer Watson and the Contemporary Canadian Landscape (2015), and Be a Sport (2015) at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and she has previously curated exhibitions at the Gardiner Museum, Toronto and the Art Gallery of Burlington. Ainsworth is currently the Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and sits on the board of Gallery 44.

The Thames Art Gallery is committed to fairly representing priority groups and removing barriers for all artists. Should you have any considerations around accessibility, please direct them to ckartgallery@chatham-kent.ca. Information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Privacy legislation and will be used strictly for the purpose of jurying. We thank all artists for their submissions in advance; however, only those selected will be contacted.
