Are you looking for critical feedback on your work? Do you find yourself at a standstill with your artistic practice? Are you wanting to explore something new, but are uncertain as to the best ways by which to achieve it? Perhaps you are a student or emerging photographer wishing to take the leap to a more professional level, or you are recently retired and have decided to devote more time to your passion.

In the context of Susana Reisman: Standardizing Nature, on view through April 23, 2017, the Varley Art Gallery is offering a limited number of free studio coaching sessions for artists residing in York Region. This mentorship program is part of right here | right now, an initiative that aims to foster the work of contemporary artists in York Region by providing them with ongoing professional development. The selected artists will be invited to bring a number of recent works to the gallery to meet with Susana Reisman for sessions (one individual 45-minute session and one group session). Reisman will assess current work, provide critical feedback, as well as technical and professional advice.

We invite interested artists working in photography, who would benefit from this experience, to submit a proposal by Monday, February 21 at 5pm.
