Mural Routes Presents:
WALS: Behind the Scenes (Workshop Series)

What: From January to May 2017, Mural Routes will be offering at least one workshop per month focusing on the behind-the-scenes aspects of mural-making. Attend all 5 sessions or pick and choose the most relevant topics for your practice.

Who: These workshops are perfect for mural artists or project managers looking to build their skills and knowledge during the lead-up to mural season.

Where: Workshops will all be held at the Bluffs Gallery (1859 Kingston Rd, Toronto), in partnership with Scarborough Arts.

Photoshop Basics for Mural Artists
February 2, 9, and 16, 6:00-8:30pm
Karen Roberts, Artist and Graphic Designer
This three-part workshop series will provide an introduction to Photoshop for visual artists. Learn basic skills such as menus, tools, palettes, and layers from an experienced graphic designer and mural artist. Walk away with new skills to support your artistic practice, and the ability to present your design on a wall for your next mural proposal.

Painting Utility Boxes
March 23, 6:00-8:30pm
Panel Discussion: Lillie Zendel (StreetARToronto), Michael Cavanaugh (Bell Box Mural Project), Margaret Cresswell and Robin Hesse (mural artists)
Do you want to liven up the streets with a utility box mural? Not sure where to start? In this session we will introduce the StART Outside the Box and Bell Box Murals programs, review the application processes, and discuss effective design and painting strategies for utility boxes.

Project Management Essentials for Murals
